Ruth has a background in Fine Art, which has probably defined her inquisitive approach to her practice. Always pushing materials, searching for new techniques to see what stories they might tell.

After many years in the TV and Film industry, a chance encounter with glass changed everything, resulting in her work today. Glass is a material to which Ruth continues to be drawn to exploring, beautiful and mysterious both strong and fragile. The point between the tangible and virtual, the physical and emotional.

Alongside her own personal practice she takes on various commissioned projects, often for the interior & architecture industry, creating designs that have been used in hotels, retails outlets, restaurants and homes around the world.
